TOURISM FOR CONSERVATION

TheSnow Leopard is either considered a devil that preys upon local's livestock ora lucrative source of income through the sale of its body part in theimpoverished Langu valley of Shey Phoksundo National Park in Nepal. Having itin the IUCN Red Data book and Appendix I Category of CITES has not pavedsignificant way forward for it conservation. Tourism could be powerful tool forconservation in this area.

Weare working towards encouraging the local community to conserve Snow Leopard byincreasing its economic value through tourism.

 LEARNING WHILE TRAVELLING

Travelinghas been mostly associated with recreation, and its educational dimension isoften overlooked. This camp shall engage the participants in thematic researchand create a culture of "learning while traveling" while promotingcultural tolerance and understanding and enhancing the knowledge on globalissues through local This year a 13 days camp is being organized. It willcomprise of 9 field days. The event is planned from November 15 to November 27every year.
